The Altadena Library District (all locations) will be closed on Saturday, July 4, for Independence Day.
 
Our Fab Lab is closed on Saturday, July 4. Workshops impact studio hours; view our online calendar for details.

Become An Altadena Library Board of Trustees Candidate! 
Two seats are up for election this November — Area 3 & 4.  We encourage you to run so you can help us support Altadena, which we’ve been doing for a century.
 
To be eligible to serve on our Board, you must be:    
  • at least 18 years old,    
  • registered to vote,     
  • and a resident of an Altadena area with an open seat.

Join us for a summer challenge! Once registered, you’ll log a combination of reading minutes and completing tasks and earn prizes along the way. Prizes are available (while supplies last) until August 15, 2026.

Free Summer Lunch Program returns this summer. Youth ages 18 and under receive a nutritious lunch that includes vegetables, fruits, and other healthy foods. The program aims to provide a healthy alternative for students when school is out.

We Offer Passport Services in Altadena
Altadena Library offers passport services. Our experienced authorized agents are bilingual (English/Spanish). They process the DS-11 application only.
 
We provide services 7 days a week:
  • Mon-Fri: 9am-5pm/Appointment Only @ Altadena Community Center
  • Sat-Sun: 9am-5pm/Appointment & Walk-Ins @ Bob Lucas Memorial Library

Reserve a Meeting Room at Bob Lucas Library! 
Meeting rooms (maximum capacity either 3 or 8 people) are available for use by patrons who have a valid library card and are 13 years or older. Room reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance, and you can reserve for two (2) hours maximum per day.
  
Sign-ups are taken in-person at the Bob Lucas Information Desk, in our library app, or at any of our self-service kiosks.

Learn the basics of outdoor safety in this workshop presented by Nikki Taylor, the founder of the outdoor education organization Way Out Wild.
 
You will learn the fundamentals of staying safe and prepared in the outdoors, focusing on the Ten Essentials. We’ll cover how to plan ahead, manage risk, and make confident decisions on the trail. This workshop also introduces basic navigation awareness, emergency preparedness, and how to respond to common outdoor situations. The goal is to leave you feeling more confident, capable, and ready to explore safely. Ages 18+

Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express Escape Room
