From the Eaton Fire Survivors Network:
See How Edison’s Draft Plan Impacts Your Family
The Fix What You Broke report lays out exactly what Edison’s draft compensation package means for every survivor — whether you’re a renter, a smoke-damaged homeowner, a total-loss homeowner, or a small business owner working to rebuild.

Created by 200+survivors, the report offers clear, detailed recommendations for a fair and fully funded recovery program — one that restores the homes, livelihoods, and neighborhoods that the fire destroyed.

Eaton Fire survivors are not victims. We’re civic leaders who came together not out of anger, but out of love for our families, our homes, and the community we refuse to lose.

Because we spoke with one clear voice, Edison has now confirmed it’s reviewing our report closely — and the story has reached millions through ABC7, NBC, FOX, CBS, CalMatters, LAist, and more.

Read the report to see what Edison’s plan means for you – and sign up for updates:

Together, let's help Edison deliver full and fair compensation, so every survivor can come home.

Under the new law, borrowers can PAUSE mortgage payments for up to 12 months with no late fees or penalties simply by attesting (without documentation) that the fires caused financial hardship.

  • Servicers may not charge late fees, report delinquency, or initiate foreclosure during this period.

Pasadena Community Foundation and YMCA Announce New Eaton Fire Affordable Housing Initiative
Beacon Housing, in collaboration with Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) and YMCA of the Foothills, announced a new initiative to provide stable, affordable homes for low-income survivors of the Eaton Fire. Through a construction grant from PCF, Beacon Housing will add three new accessory dwelling units (ADUs) at its Garfield Agape Court property in Northwest Pasadena. During initial leasing, these units will be prioritized for low-income households displaced by the Eaton Fire.

Construction is slated to begin in October, with anticipated completion before the year ends. Interested households can submit a waitlist application through Beacon Housing’s website at beaconhousing.org/enquiry-form/.

If you were impacted by the Eaton Fire, please complete the form specifically for Eaton Fire impacted households.
GER3 Offering Gravel Vouchers to Aid in Creation of Defensible Space Around Homes
Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER³)  is offering gravel vouchers to eligible residents of Altadena to aid in the creation of defensible space around their home.

Vouchers can be redeemed at “Stone / Yard Landscape Center” for a set amount of gravel to be delivered to the recipient’s home. Defensible space refers to the 5 feet around the perimeter of the home where there is no vegetation or combustible material and is protected by hardscape such as gravel.

During a high wind event, debris can easily get caught on objects and if there are combustible materials near the home this can create an area for embers to catch thereby threatening the integrity of the structure. Creating defensible space on your property is one of the most important steps you can take to make your property more wildfire resilient.

Our program provides gravel vouchers to you after you have cleared your defensible space of vegetation or combustible material, but if you need assistance, please indicate so on the registration. We’re accepting homeowner registrations until October 31. If you or one of your neighbors may be interested, please fill out this registration form. For more information about GER3’s Wildfire Preparedness Programming, please email Alexis Helgeson at alexis.helgeson@ger3.org.
Altadena Rental Housing Properties
The County of Los Angeles’ Rental Housing Habitability Program (RHHP) is authorized to inspect rental housing units in the unincorporated areas of the County, such as Altadena, for compliance with health and safety standards and will respond to tenant complaints.

The County RHHP program presumes that rental housing properties in unincorporated Altadena have been impacted by the Eaton fire.

Upon receipt of a complaint, an RHHP inspector will contact the tenant and arrange a time to inspect the unit/property for fire impacts and require the property owner to have the property evaluated by a certified professional, so that any identified health hazards may be fixed.

If the certified professional determines that impacts from the Eaton Fire have created an existing habitability issue, then that habitability issue must be corrected within a reasonable period. RHHP intends to work with rental property owners to achieve appropriate evaluation and remediation.

Tenants in unincorporated Altadena can contact the County’s Rental Housing Habitability Program (RHHP) at (888) 700-9995 or via email at DPH-RHHP@ph.lacounty.gov for an inspection to address concerns about ash, soot, and smoke impacts from the Eaton Fire.

CalAssist Mortgage Fund Increased Income Threshold to $211,050
