Updated Information on How to Join the Altadena Farmers’ Market Free Produce Voucher Program
We want to apologize for incorrect information previously shared in Altadena Connections regarding the Altadena Farmers’ Market. We sincerely regret the error and the confusion it caused.

Since then, we’ve been in contact with the director of the Farmers’ Market to ensure we have accurate and up-to-date details. The following information has been verified, and we are committed to providing you with the correct facts moving forward.

The Altadena Farmers’ Market food distribution does NOT take place Saturday at Fair Oaks Burger. It happens every other Wednesday, and here is how you register for this free program.

How to join the Altadena Farmers' Market Free Produce Voucher Program

Step 1. Go to www.altadenafarmersmarket.com/register, click login and either login with your Altadena Farmers’ Market account information or create a new account.

Step 2.  Once you’re signed in, click back to the voucher registration page, and fill out the registration form. (Please include the zip code that you were living at prior to the fire). If you are eligible, after you submit the form, the page will refresh and tell you that you are a registered member.

GER3 Offering Gravel Vouchers to Aid in Creation of Defensible Space Around Homes
Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER³)  is offering gravel vouchers to eligible residents of Altadena to aid in the creation of defensible space around their home.

Vouchers can be redeemed at “Stone / Yard Landscape Center” for a set amount of gravel to be delivered to the recipient’s home. Defensible space refers to the 5 feet around the perimeter of the home where there is no vegetation or combustible material and is protected by hardscape such as gravel.

During a high wind event, debris can easily get caught on objects and if there are combustible materials near the home this can create an area for embers to catch thereby threatening the integrity of the structure. Creating defensible space on your property is one of the most important steps you can take to make your property more wildfire resilient.

Our program provides gravel vouchers to you after you have cleared your defensible space of vegetation or combustible material, but if you need assistance, please indicate so on the registration. We’re accepting homeowner registrations until October 31. If you or one of your neighbors may be interested, please fill out this registration form. For more information about GER3’s Wildfire Preparedness Programming, please email Alexis Helgeson at alexis.helgeson@ger3.org.
Altadena Rental Housing Properties
The County of Los Angeles’ Rental Housing Habitability Program (RHHP) is authorized to inspect rental housing units in the unincorporated areas of the County, such as Altadena, for compliance with health and safety standards and will respond to tenant complaints.

The County RHHP program presumes that rental housing properties in unincorporated Altadena have been impacted by the Eaton fire.

Upon receipt of a complaint, an RHHP inspector will contact the tenant and arrange a time to inspect the unit/property for fire impacts and require the property owner to have the property evaluated by a certified professional, so that any identified health hazards may be fixed.

If the certified professional determines that impacts from the Eaton Fire have created an existing habitability issue, then that habitability issue must be corrected within a reasonable period. RHHP intends to work with rental property owners to achieve appropriate evaluation and remediation.

Tenants in unincorporated Altadena can contact the County’s Rental Housing Habitability Program (RHHP) at (888) 700-9995 or via email at DPH-RHHP@ph.lacounty.gov for an inspection to address concerns about ash, soot, and smoke impacts from the Eaton Fire.

The fair will feature both indoor and outdoor booths, showcasing a wide range of artistic mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, woodworking, textiles, and more. At its core, this event is about more than art—it’s about rebuilding, reconnecting, and honoring the strength of our local creative community.
