Lights, camera, action: Gather your blankets and lawn chairs, pack your picnic, and come experience the music and drama of West Side Story under the stars. Countless fans know and love Leonard Bernstein’s landmark work with songs like “America,” “Somewhere,” and “I Feel Pretty”, but few have seen it like this. Originally conceived as an opera, we’re paying tribute to Bernstein’s impact with the grand operatic treatment. New York City’s West Side is split between the Jets and the Sharks—but these warring gangs never imagined that two of their own could fall in love.
This event is free to attend and open to all ages.

|
Doors open at 6pm. *Space/seating is limited and will operate on a first come first serve basis.
AltadenaWILD will discuss and share the story of how a development threat in the Altadena foothills galvanized the birth of AltadenaWILD, how they harnessed the power of community to defeat that threat, and how they worked with the County to develop a new Area Plan – with changes in zoning and land use classifications – to create an opportunity for future conservation options.
The Chaney Trail Corridor Project will highlight how professional and community
scientists contributed to data collection and public awareness which helped achieve the
withdrawal of the Polyfields development. Since the Eaton Fire, the project has focused on documenting post-fire impacts, regrowth, wildlife repopulation, and the protection of the Corridor’s trees and natural stream. Finally, Chaney Trail will share its efforts to bring
together governmental and non-governmental stakeholders on a plan to conserve the

Fraternal Order of Eages Hall 719, 455 E. Woodbury
|
The ALTA Arts Collective is proud to announce the launch of our first-ever ALTA Arts & Crafts Fair, happening Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall 719, located at 455 E. Woodbury Road, Altadena.
This milestone event is more than just a fair — it’s a heartfelt celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and the community that sustains us. For the first time, ALTA will bring together local artists, makers, and neighbors for a full day of art, connection, and discovery.
The fair will feature both indoor and outdoor booths, showcasing a wide range of artistic mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, woodworking, textiles, and more. In addition to the artists, we’re inviting local vendors and small businesses to join us outdoors, adding flavor and festivity to the experience.
At its core, this event is about more than art—it’s about rebuilding, reconnecting, and honoring the strength of our local creative community. Many of the participating artists were directly impacted by the Eaton Canyon Fire, and this event is a meaningful step forward—an opportunity to heal, share, and emerge through art.
