Reach Out World Wide (ROWW) Announces Next Phase of Relief

Reach Out WorldWide has received funding through the American Red Cross 2025 California Wildfire Long-Term Recovery Program.

 

The grant will support ROWW’s long-term wildfire recovery efforts, including broader community outreach and referrals, household needs assessments, and targeted distributions of furniture, appliances, clothing, and more.

Steadfast LA Launches Initiative with Banc of California to Support Small Businesses in Wildfire-Impacted Communities with Direct Grants up to $50,000

Steadfast LA, the nonprofit founded by civic leader and businessman Rick Caruso to accelerate the rebuilding of Los Angeles with private-sector solutions, announced today a Small Business Initiative launched with a $1 million donation from Banc of California’s Wildfire Relief & Recovery Fund.

 

The initiative will support retailers, restaurants, and other independent businesses in Altadena, Malibu, and the Pacific Palisades impacted by the devastating Eaton and Palisades Fires with direct grants of up to $50,000.

Rotary Club of Altadena is accepting Fire Relief grant applications

The Altadena Rotary Fire Relief grants will support community projects that benefit Altadena residents, businesses, services, and charities affected by the Eaton Fire. Applications will be considered and prioritized on the basis of need and impact. 

 

Grant applications must be completed by not-for-profit 501(c) organizations only. Organizations may sponsor projects by individuals, businesses, or units of government. Grant projects must be intended for and completed within the unincorporated area of Altadena. 

 

Grants are available between $500 and $5,000. Matching funds are encouraged but not required. Funding for a purpose that is part of a larger project is acceptable. Grants will be considered on a rolling basis each quarter with deadlines of March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31, 2025.

Altadena Chamber Now Accepting Grant Applications - Round 2

Deadline: Sept. 26, 2025.

The ACOC Business Recovery Fund provides emergency grant assistance to help businesses and nonprofits recover from the devastating effects of the wildfires. Emergency grant assistance awards range from $500 - $1,500 per eligible applicant.

 

Please note that funding is limited.

 

Eligible applicants must demonstrate direct impact from the wildfires and have a business/nonprofit within the Altadena affected area identified by state or local disaster declarations.

Altadena Meals on Wheels Looking for Volunteer Drivers

Altadena Meals on Wheels proudly relaunched its meal delivery service on June 2nd, and we’re looking for caring volunteer drivers to join our team.  Volunteers deliver hot meals to housebound residents along a designated route.  Meal pickup is at 9:45 am, Monday through Friday at Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church in Altadena.  If you have a little time and a big heart, we’d love to have you on board. Altadena Farmers' Community Market Provides Free Goods for Fire-Impacted Residents

The Altadena Farmers' Community Market has transitioned from a traditional community marketplace into an emergency nonprofit produce distribution effort. It no longer sells produce. Instead, it provides free, farm-fresh goods to fire-impacted residents through a verified voucher system. GER3 Offering Smoke Remediation and Repairs

Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER3) is a non-profit offering a comprehensive approach to remediation and repairs for Altadena residents, working with homeowners to assess damage, test for hazardous materials, remediate using licensed contractors, post-test, and make the necessary repairs at no cost to the homeowner.

 

Our services are all-encompassing, designed to serve a homeowner's full smoke remediation and repair needs; we currently do not offer standalone services. We prioritize applicants that do not have the means or ability to remediate themselves.

GER3 Offering Gravel Vouchers to Aid in Creation of Defensible Space Around Homes

Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER³)  is offering gravel vouchers to eligible residents of Altadena to aid in the creation of defensible space around their home.

 

Vouchers can be redeemed at “Stone / Yard Landscape Center” for a set amount of gravel to be delivered to the recipient’s home. Defensible space refers to the 5 feet around the perimeter of the home where there is no vegetation or combustible material and is protected by hardscape such as gravel.

 

During a high wind event, debris can easily get caught on objects and if there are combustible materials near the home this can create an area for embers to catch thereby threatening the integrity of the structure. Creating defensible space on your property is one of the most important steps you can take to make your property more wildfire resilient.

 

Our program provides gravel vouchers to you after you have cleared your defensible space of vegetation or combustible material, but if you need assistance, please indicate so on the registration. We’re accepting homeowner registrations until October 31. If you or one of your neighbors may be interested, please fill out this registration form. For Eaton Fire residents, NHS team members will be on site at the Altadena Main Library (600 E. Mariposa) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-6pm to assist residents who want help with their application for the state mortgage program that provides grants up to $20,000 (3 months of mortgage payments) for disaster survivors.

UCLA Wildfire Evacuation Survey

On behalf of our partners at UCLA, we are sharing a survey with you to capture your experiences evacuating during the 2025 wildfires. We believe it’s essential to understand any challenges you may have experienced so that these issues can be addressed in future disaster evacuation plans based on real-life experiences. The survey link is available here, and it should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. 

 

We are aware that many in our community have experienced survey fatigue over the past six months, with individuals receiving surveys on various topics. From what we know, this is the first survey to collect data on your evacuation experiences, so we hope it complements and does not duplicate responses you’ve given in the past. The goal of this work is to inform future disaster planning efforts that take into account people’s real-life experiences from this disaster

The finished piece will be crafted from excerpts of the stories and voiced by professional actors. Our hope is to provide a way to help our community heal.
