Cash Aid for Pregnant and Postpartum Families Impacted by the Fires

The Mama2Mama Wildfire Relief Fund: Support for Pregnant & Postpartum Families is providing cash aid for pregnant and postpartum families directly impacted by the fires. If you were a recipient of round 1 and round 2 funding, you may be eligible for round 3 funding. Please see income requirements and application process details below.
To qualify, individuals must meet all of the following criteria:
- They were directly impacted by the recent wildfires in California, with loss of home, workplace, or school;
- They are currently pregnant or their child was born on or after January 1, 2024;
- Their household income is at or below the area median income level for Los Angeles County. Review the income guidelines here

Reach Out World Wide (ROWW) Announces Next Phase of Relief |
Reach Out WorldWide has received funding through the American Red Cross 2025 California Wildfire Long-Term Recovery Program.
The grant will support ROWW’s long-term wildfire recovery efforts, including broader community outreach and referrals, household needs assessments, and targeted distributions of furniture, appliances, clothing, and more.

NHS Partners - ON SITE AT ALTADENA LIBRARY TUESDAY & THURSDAY
for Mortgage Grant Application Assistance |
For Eaton Fire residents, NHS team members will be on site at the Altadena Main Library (600 E. Mariposa) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-6pm to assist residents who want help with their application for the state mortgage program that provides grants up to $20,000 (3 months of mortgage payments) for disaster survivors. WALK-INS are welcome.

GER3 Offering Smoke Remediation and Repairs |
Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER3) is a non-profit offering a comprehensive approach to remediation and repairs for Altadena residents, working with homeowners to assess damage, test for hazardous materials, remediate using licensed contractors, post-test, and make the necessary repairs at no cost to the homeowner.
Our services are all-encompassing, designed to serve a homeowner's full smoke remediation and repair needs; we currently do not offer standalone services. We prioritize applicants that do not have the means or ability to remediate themselves.

GER3 Offering Wildfire Preparedness Services to Standing Homes in Altadena |
Global Emergency Relief, Recovery & Reconstruction (GER3) is a non-profit offering fully funded wildfire preparedness services to standing homes in Altadena.
Thanks to donor support, this work comes at no cost to homeowners . By living in the Wildland-Urban Interface, it is understood that the risk of a wildfire is always present. GER3’s mission is to reduce that risk by hardening homes against future wildfires, one cluster at a time.
We are currently identifying clusters of 5–10 standing homes in Altadena to participate, helping neighbors strengthen their properties and build a more wildfire-resilient community together.

Altadena Library and Altadena Library Foundation aim to provide Eaton Fire Survivors with Hotspots |
The Altadena Library Foundation has distributed 300 hotspots to Altadena residents whose homes were destroyed or left uninhabitable by the Eaton Fire. Thanks to our donors, the waitlist is open again. If you would like to be added to our waitlist for a free mobile hotspot, please complete this form: hotspot waitlist.
Due to limited supplies, meeting eligibility requirements does not guarantee you will receive a hotspot.

BMO Los Angeles Wildfire Recovery Fund now accepting applications from Nonprofits:

Earlier this year, BMO announced a $3 million commitment to support the Los Angeles community in its ongoing recovery from the devastating wildfires. This commitment aligns with BMO’s dedication to growing the good in the communities it serves. The funding will focus on providing crucial support in two comprehensive areas identified through on-the-ground engagement and conversations with local agencies and residents: Helping People Rebuild and Helping Communities Rebuild.
Recognizing the devastating impact of wildfires, BMO aims to support local charitable organizations that are making a difference in the community. The funding strategy prioritizes initiatives and programs that address the diverse needs of affected communities.
Local non-profit organizations aligned with one or both of the two fund pillars and serving the affected areas of Los Angeles County are invited to apply for funding through the BMO grants portal. The application deadline is August 15, 2025 – applicants are encouraged to apply early. Grant awards start at $25,000 and will be based on alignment with the fund’s criteria, the scope of services, and demonstrated need.
The BMO Wildfire Recovery Fund began accepting applications July 15, 2025. Funds will be directed toward eligible non-profit organizations with programs or initiatives in the following two areas:
Helping People Rebuild: Funding will support programs that aid recovery for individuals and families with an emphasis on small business and home ownership.- Services that help navigate the administrative requirements of the recovery process
- Community-driven information sessions with trusted, local agencies
- Mental health support for those affected by trauma
- Helping Communities Rebuild: Funding will support programs that aid recovery for communities with an emphasis on cleanup, safety, and essential needs.
- Addressing food insecurity, shelter, access to healthcare and education
- Rebuilding community infrastructure and assets including community centers, parks and shared public spaces
- Community cleanup, safety and preparedness initiatives, including local convenings
BMO determined the funding focus areas by actively engaging with Los Angeles-based community partners, local agencies and impacted residents, including employees. The bank will also encourage further giving by its employees and organize volunteer events to further support recovery efforts.

We are excited to launch the AltadenaWILD Scholarships to help eligible young Altadenans impacted by the Eaton Fire in their pursuit of higher education in the environmental and related fields!
With support from the Altadena Rotary Club, we will offer several $2,000 scholarships to Altadena residents entering their freshman year at a 2-year or 4-year college or university in Fall 2025.

Eaton Fire Parent Support Groups |
After the Eaton fire, many families are still feeling stressed and unsure about the future. To help, Young & Healthy and The Center for Connection are offering small support groups for parents and caregivers affected by the Eaton fire.
The groups focus on helping parents stay connected with their children, handle stress, and build strength during hard times. Parents will have a safe place to talk, get support, and learn ways to help their kids-and themselves -heal and feel better.
These groups are based on the work of Dr. Tina Payne Bryson, a well-known author and the founder of The Center for Connection.

Free Play Based Family Therapy |
Has your family been through a hard time because of the fires? Is your child feeling sad, worried, or struggling with changes?
You are not alone. We are here to help.
Play therapy uses play to help families talk, heal, and feel better. In these sessions, kids and parents play and talk together with a trained therapist. This can help everyone feel more calm, connected, and strong. Young & Healthy is partnering with the Center for Connection to offer 6 FREE sessions of play-based family therapy with a licensed therapist to families with a child aged 2-12 who were affected by the fires.

In Other People’s Shoes Productions in association with Pacific Clinics is creating a theatre piece to lift up the voices of young fire survivors in our community.
We’re looking for young people 18 and under who are interested in sharing their experiences and feelings in a safe environment.
The finished piece will be crafted from excerpts of the stories and voiced by professional actors. Our hope is to provide a way to help our community heal.
