The Loma Alta Park location will be closed on Saturday, August 16.
Bob Lucas Library is closed until

Altadena Poets Laureate Honored by Academy of American Poets aas 2025 Poet Laureate Fellows

Altadena Poets Laureate Lester Graves Lennon and Sehba Sarwar have been honored by the Academy of American Poets as 2025 Poet Laureate Fellows.
 
The Academy of American Poets awarded $50,000 fellowships to twenty-three poets laureate serving in cities and states across the nation. These fellowships recognize poets laureate for their literary excellence while enabling them to undertake impactful and timely projects that engage their communities through the transformative power of poetry.

Come to our End of Summer Movie Night on Friday, August 15 or 
stop by the Bob Lucas Memorial Library the week of August 18-22 to receive a free backpack, courtesy of GitHub! For children ages 6-12, while supplies last.

Drop by to use a computer, check out books and other materials, or print important documents (up to 20 B&W pages free).
 
The Friends of the Altadena Library are not accepting any used book donations at this time.

 Join Families In Schools’ volunteer storytellers who will read stories that create comfort and joy. After the storytime, children (grades preschool-3rd) will take home a backpack with books to keep.

Ink Exploration: Craft Your Own Creature

Come join us at our Loma Alta location and work with our artist in residence, Joe (JT) Bruns to make a one-of-a-kind artwork! We will use ink and imagination to explore freeform illustration. Artwork will be displayed in the new Children's Art Wall.
