Rotary Club of Altadena Grant Application Open
First Deadline: March 31, 2025
|
The Rotary Club of Altadena is now accepting Altadena fire relief grant applications.
The Altadena Rotary fire relief grants will support community projects that benefit Altadena residents, businesses, services, and charities affected by the Eaton Fire. Applications will be considered and prioritized on the basis of need and impact.
Grant applications must be completed by not-for-profit 501(c) organizations only. Organizations may sponsor projects by individuals, businesses, or units of government. Grant projects must be intended for and completed within the unincorporated area of Altadena.
Grants are available between $500 and $5,000. Matching funds are encouraged but not required. Funding for a purpose that is part of a larger project is acceptable. Grants will be considered on a rolling basis quarterly with deadlines of March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31, 2025.

This unified effort brings together community groups, local nonprofits, city, county, and state officials dedicated to helping those affected. Eaton Fire Survivors, you continue to be in our thoughts as we work toward rebuilding and recovery. The City of Pasadena has facilitated a furniture donation from the historic Langham Hotel. All hotel room furniture is available free of charge exclusively to direct survivors of the Eaton Fire. Below is a “catalog” of the available items. The City has partnered with Reach Out WorldWide, an organization that has been on the ground since January 9, working diligently to distribute supplies and connect resources. Donations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. These are the furniture items that are available. New Parent Infant Feeding Support Group

The New Parent Infant Feeding Support Group is a monthly meeting space for local new parents to gather and ask questions about infant feeding and breastfeeding / chestfeeding in a supportive, inclusive, and nonjudgmental setting.
You will get the opportunity to ask any questions or concerns you have about new parenthood and infant feeding and receive appropriate advice from Rachel Paul, a registered nurse and a board certified lactation consultant, and open support from other attendees.
Attendance is not mandatory each month – this is an open support group, where attendance will vary month to month.

Khentrul Lodrö T’hayé Rinpoche: Finding Joy in Troubled Times

With so much discontent and so many displaced by the fires, please join us for an event with Rinpoche as he explores the potential and power of our mind when facing challenging times, from a wisdom that has been passed down from teacher to student for centuries.
Khentrul Lodrö T’hayé Rinpoche is the abbot of a monastery in Tibet and oversees meditation groups across North America, Australia, and South Africa. Since 2002 Rinpoche has traveled year-round teaching seminars and leading retreats. During the COVID pandemic, Rinpoche held online retreats for his students around the globe. Khentrul Rinpoche is one of the only monks in the world with three khenpo degrees — the equivalent of three Ph.Ds in Buddhist philosophy. Many of his students have nicknamed him “the mind training Khenpo” for his passion for teaching mind training practices.
