Are You Displaced? Join the Eaton Fire Survivors Network
|
When disaster strikes, communities come together in unexpected ways. Just ask Joy Chen. On Jan. 7, she was the admin of the pickleball WhatsApp group for the Altadena Town and Country Club. Then, the fire exploded. The club burned down, and nearly every member lost their home or was forced to evacuate. Overnight, a social chat became a lifeline—tracking fire movements, sharing critical updates, and coordinating emergency resources. The group has moved to Discord as the Eaton Fire Survivors Network—a community by and for displaced survivors. The Eaton Fire Survivors Network is open to everyone displaced by the fire—whether they lost their home or not. Invite your displaced friends and neighbors, because no one should have to face this tragedy alone.
What the Network Provides
- Find housing – Members share rental leads and off-market listings.
- Navigate insurance claims – Survivors compare carrier experiences and strategize for fair settlements.
- Coordinate home remediation – Members discuss remediation companies, and tackle repairs and health concerns for a safe return.
