LA County Parks & Recreation Offers Care Camps
Families impacted by the Eaton Fire can sign up youth and teens for FREE LA County Parks’ Care Camps, which are Monday - Friday through the end of January.
 
UPDATE: Almost all locations are booked, but you can sign up teens for the Pamela Park camp or add your name to the wait list at to: parks.lacounty.gov/care-camps.
 
Altadena Library staff will be on site helping at the camps as the library remains closed.

Assistance & Other Services
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA): Residents & businesses in evacuation zones can apply now for relief at http://disasterassistance.gov
 
This includes:
  • Temporary displacement assistance (e.g., hotel costs for 2 weeks)
  • $770 for essential personal items
  • Large grants for needs like medical bills & car repairs
You can also call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362. Press 3 for an interpreter who speaks your language.
 
211 LA: provides assistance and referrals to local resources for housing, food, health, and other services. Dial 211 or visit 211la.org.
 
Spectrum: To help keep people connected in impacted communities, Spectrum has opened more than 35,000 out-of-home WiFi access points to be available to all users at no cost. spectrum.net/CAfires

AirBnB’s Open Homes Program connects those displaced with free temporary housing. Learn More Here
 
Uber and Lyft: Are offering free rides up to for evacuees to designated shelters through January 15, 2025. To redeem the free ride, evacuees must use the promo code
"WILDFIRE25" in their Uber app and "CAFIRERELIEF25" for Lyft.

Grab & Go Meals for PUSD Students
Starting Friday, January 10, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) program will provide an opportunity for all families to drive through and pick up meals for the children in their family at 3 of our school sites.

The following schools will provide (2) meals, breakfast and lunch, for each student. Meals will be available for pick up between 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., Monday through Friday, in the parking lot or bus lane at each participating school. Please stay in your car and meals will be passed to your car.

California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara issued a mandatory one-year moratorium, protecting homeowners’ insurance coverage in areas affected by the Palisades and Eaton fires. The moratorium will prohibit insurance companies from enacting non-renewals and cancellations until Jan. 7, 2026.

Union Station Homeless Services: Union Station Homeless Services has had to evacuate a number of sites within the emergency evacuation zones and is urgently working to provide essential support to those affected.
